AI readiness depends more on data and process maturity than on technology — businesses need centralized, reasonably clean data, a specific business problem AI would actually solve, and staff capable of evaluating results. Companies that jump to AI tools without these basics tend to get inconsistent results and lose confidence in the investment.
The businesses getting real value from AI right now aren't necessarily the most technical ones — they're the ones who picked one well-defined, annoying problem (slow customer response times, manual data entry, inconsistent forecasting) and started there.
